Vonage: What next?

July 27, 2006 · Filed Under All

As a former Vonage subscriber of more than two years, one thing that irked me most was their failure to “innovate.” While startups and upstarts were steadily adding new, dazzling features to their services, Vonage continued ahead with a feature set that (mostly) hadn’t changed since their introduction. How sad.

Vonage has spent millions of dollars on marketing, and probably won’t break even for the next few years, if at all. And, with Comcast recently claiming 1.7 Million Digital Voice subscribers, there’s even more reasons for Vonage’s top execs to be worried.

How will this play out? Only time will tell, but “leading the broadband phone revolution” they’re not.
