A Salute To Great Women
Contrary to popular belief (and I’ve been guilty of this as well), I know first hand that great women do exist. They are selfless, caring, considerate, respectful, attentive and kind. They are wonderful women in their own right, and I feel fortunate to know these women.
So, I salute the following as great women in my life:
- Mom - I don’t always agree with her, yet she instilled in me a priceless gift: Love
- Grandma and “Momma Lou” - Very wise women in their own right … I’ve learned so much just by listening … it’s a blessing to still have both of my grandmothers
- “Mom” - She will always be my “other” mom … in heart, in life, in spirit, in mind
- Delores - I’d often spend time at her house as a kid … and her mother (who I referred to as “grandma”) is such a sweet and amazing woman
- Ms. Henderson - A very warm and courageous woman … I grew up with her sons as a kid
- Karen and Arin - They’re like the sisters I never had … I miss you guys … soon enough
- Jen - A newcomer, but she has already proven herself to be a great friend
- Adi - She’s always been there for me, even when I neglected our friendship to respect my commitment to a relationship
- Elizabeth - She’s awesome … hilarious … such a cool friend
- Helena - Always a pleasure to talk to
- Jese - A very optimistic woman … certainly an inspiration to my life
- Lesley - I’ve known her forever it seems …
Finally, I send my love to two wonderful “little ladies”, Shanice and Tianna. They are unique and special in their own right. And they’re so intelligent for their ages! They’re not my blood, but my love for them is thicker than water. They are the epitome of angels. They always gave me a sense of hope when I otherwise lacked it.
I know I probably forgot a few people, but that’s okay. They know I love them! ![]()
