Live Your Best Life

September 30, 2007 · Filed Under Society, Technology, Thoughts

Update: I just finished watching the 1.5 hour video of CMU’s Dr. Randy Pausch. I am nothing short of inspired or energized. To see a man who may not be here three months from now — be as happy and content with life as he is, should be a wake up call for all of us. This is how we should live our lives. This is who we should be.

We all need a guiding light — a source of inspiration. TechCrunch founder and editor Michael Arrington posted this much appreciated and final lecture by Dr. Randy Pausch, Computer Science Professor at Carnegie Mellon University.

See it, hear it and embrace it.

My thoughts about Dr. Pausch in my recent TechCrunch comment

Michael –

Thank you.

Dr. Pausch –

Thank you for the best 1.5 hours of my life in recent memory. We’ve never met, though we did connect in spirit. Humanity needs more telling stories like your own — The ingredients which make life rewarding, plentiful and divine.

I will make the best effort to never complain or whine a day more. I will not give up when I’m told “no” or when the door doesn’t open. I will not feel sorry about a life I believe is horrible, when its been so great. I will not stop dreaming, for my dreams have carried me this far. I will not deny myself an opportunity because of the opinion or feedback of someone else. I will not worry about those who judge me because of my skin color — Because it does not define my intelligence, worth, capability or identity. I will be a kid at heart until I die, for it brings joy, innovation, peace and happiness to my life. I will strive to be happier, despite past experiences and the present state of our world.

Thank you, thank you, thank you — from the bottom of the heart and the core of my being.

TechCrunch readers –

May Dr. Pausch be a reminder of what it means to be human. It’s not about your career, profession, title, skin color, identity or bank account. It’s about what truly matters — whether you’re rich or poor. We can be stripped of everything, yet what remains is a heart and soul to carry forth our mission to survive, succeed and prosper.

Much love –
