Yahoo! Chairman Terry Semel Steps Down
It’s official: The Associated Press is reporting (read full story) that Yahoo!’s chairman and former CEO, Terry Semel, has left the board of directors. This marks the end of the out of control tail-spin that cost Semel his position as CEO.
Does this mark the beginning of the end for the former Internet heavyweight? Only time will tell.
Associated Press excerpt:
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Terry Semel stepped down as Yahoo Inc.’s chairman Thursday, severing his ties with the slumping Internet icon 7 1/2 months after he resigned as chief executive under shareholder pressure.
The Sunnyvale-based company said another director, Roy Bostock, will replace Semel as the nonexecutive chairman of its 10-member board.
Yahoo said Semel decided to give up his chairman’s role several months ago but agreed to stay on to give the company time pick a successor.
The Federal Reserve: Theft in The Open
If there was any word to best describe the Federal Reserve (which is our “Central Bank”), then I have the perfect one: Fraud. Since 1913, the Federal Reserve has been robbing Americans blind using a monetary system which is both fraudulent and unconstitutional. If you are not allowed to create money “out of thin air” to survive, then why should the Fed, an entity which is owned by private banks?
In a series of videos I will share with you, here is one that runs about 42 minutes. Thank me later.
Montel Williams: Quitting Is Not An Option
Variety reported on Wednesday (January 30, 2008) that Montel Williams has called it quits after key Fox-owned stations opted not to renew Montel for the 2008-2009 season. This decision by News Corp. is likely due to Montel recently challenging the status quo of the mainstream during his appearance on “Fox and Friends” (which is embedded below).
After 17 years as a respected TV personality, I must object to Mr. Williams making this decision. Of course, it’s his to make, but I feel there are other alternatives to continue his platform of reaching out to our society with thought provoking segments. Montel, your gig isn’t up, for your voice cannot be silenced.
Terry Meets His Favorite Hockey Player
My friend and Justin.TV viewer Terry recently met his favorite hockey player, Washington Capital’s Mike Green. Check out the picture of his meeting here.
Today was a great day. I went to the ESPNZone in Washington D.C. to attend a Q&A session/autograph session with Washington Capitals Defenseman Mike Green. Mike answered a lot of questions from the fans in attendance. I asked Mike “What do you do during the offseason?” and his response was that he watches the rest of the playoffs and lays back at his home in Calgary.
Video: Fresh White Powder in Denver
Tonight while dining at Panera Bread, Denver was socked by a system that dumped at least six inches of white powder within one hour. I even had the pleasure of riding my mountain bike home in the fluffy white stuff — It was quite fun. Here’s a brief video that I captured from my live camera:
