Google: “We are retiring AdSense Referrals”
This just in from Google:
Hello,
Thank you for participating in the AdSense Referrals program. We’re writing to let you know that we will be retiring the AdSense Referrals program during the last week of August. We appreciate
your patience during this transition and here are some alternative options to consider:
* Google Affiliate Network: As part of the integration of DoubleClick, the DoubleClick Performics Affiliate Network will now operate as the Google Affiliate Network for advertisers targeting
users located in the United States. Similar to the AdSense Referrals program, the Google Affiliate Network enables publishers to apply for advertiser programs and get paid based on
advertiser-defined actions instead of clicks or impressions. For further details, please visit:
http://www.google.com/ads/affiliatenetwork.
* AdSense for content ads: If you have less than three AdSense for content ad units on a page, you may wish to replace the referral ad units with standard AFC ad units.
If you currently use referral ads, either to promote Google products or offerings from AdWords advertisers, AdSense Referrals code will no longer display ads beginning the last week of August.
We encourage you to take the following steps before the product is retired:
* Remove the referral code from your site(s): Please take a moment to remove all referral code from your sites before the last week of August, so you can continue to effectively monetize your
ad space.
* Run and save all referrals reports on your desktop: Create and save all reports related to the referrals program on your desktop, so you continue to have access to your valuable campaign
information
Why is this happening?
We’re constantly looking for ways to improve AdSense by developing and supporting features which drive the best monetization results for our publishers. Sometimes, this requires retiring existing features so we can focus our efforts on the ones that will be most effective in the long term. For this reason, we will be retiring the AdSense Referrals program. If you have any additional questions, please visit our Help Center:

Sincerely.

It’s All About The Cloud! Cloud! Cloud! Cloud!
Any day now, I’ll create a spoof of Steve Ballmer chanting the importance of cloud computing. In just months, we’ve witnessed an increasing trend in computing where developers and small businesses are consolidating their IT infrastructure and outsourcing it to the likes of Amazon (EC2). Why is cloud computing becoming a hot topic in technology today? I think I have an easy answer:
Cost effective access to unlimited computing power
Do you have a server farm in your shed or back office? Do you have the latest in high-performing blade servers that are ready to host demanding applications and web sites? Do you have vast amounts of bandwidth to power your global reach?
If you’re a consultant, developer or small business owner, there’s a strong likelihood that you lack the technological resources of an enterprise. Now, thanks to cloud computing, the data center is now virtual and available for any tasks you can throw at it.
This website is powered by Amazon’s multi-billion dollar IT infrastructure. It lives on one of thousands of servers within the company’s vast network of server farms. The only limits are defined by the server you launch and configure. The Digg effect? What’s that? Amazon EC2 is truly a dream come true.
Cloud computing is one of the most exciting developments in technology that I’ve personally witnessed in the last decade. It puts the power of the enterprise in the hands of smaller operations — For pennies a day. I cannot think of a better way to launch new companies, develop new Internet applications or create the ‘next big thing’ in technology.
Imagine all the possibilities of cloud computing and Amazon EC2:
1. Web hosting
2. Software development
3. Telecommunications (Asterisk PBX)
4. Storage
The future of computing and the Internet is “in the cloud”.
Note: I am not endorsed by Amazon Web Services.

This Is Why Some People Are Better Left ‘Ignored’
In the past few days, I’ve had to deal with two annoying individuals who were hell bent on publicly attacking my views on social constructs such as “race”. Their pathetic argument has been that I don’t “practice what I preach” in the public domain. They are convinced that I’m a racist, a “wannabe ‘White Boy’,” and a hideous ‘hypocrite’.
What started these attacks? Only they would know best. However, in his latest round, he pulls out not only the “Black” label, but the “Nigger” label as well. I’d like to think that he did this simply because I’ve decided to ignore both him and his sidekick. They posted their stream of comments. I responded to a few, then decided it wasn’t worth addressing them further.
What’s interesting is this: If one asserts that no one reads this blog, why does it fucking matter if I decide against posting more of your worthless attacks? Sometimes, you simply have to ignore people in life. This is what I’ve chosen to do in this case. Frankly, I’ve discovered — Once again — That you cannot trust everyone as a ‘friend’.
What’s sad is that these two individuals believe that they have everything figured out. They’re convinced that they’ve uncovered some major contradiction about who I am. I think I’ve explained myself and my views quite well about the way I feel about our society. Some just choose to ignore the issues that need to be addressed.
Fact: In 2008, we still live in a socially constructed world. I am not delusional about what still exists in the conditioned mind. That is what I’m always fighting against, because contrary to what some MIGHT believe, there still exists the constructed ‘Black’ and ‘White’ world, of which I must live in. I am fully aware that I must balance my existence of living between ‘parallel societies’: Reality and the constructed reality. This is not an easy task.
No one knows what it’s like to wake up each day wishing for ‘real change’. No one knows what it’s like to see yourself differently than how society portrays you to be. No one knows what it’s like to renounce and discard a socially constructed identity. No one knows what it’s like to be me. People can guess, assume, and extrapolate opinions, but until you sit down and begin to understand who I am, only then can you begin to even understand why I’ve become who I am today.
nice, your true colors have shown through like I knew they would. Hide like a bitch, run like a coward. I knew you wouldn’t be capable of taking on truth within your blog. It’s so typical of a coward. Nigger you’re not, hypocrite, you are the mecca of Hypocrites.
Don’t worry little nigra, I won’t be back to your blog, I was only here to see your ridiculous contradicting posts… you need help… like seriously, for your own good.
Hopefully you’ll learn to stop running your retarded mouth, so you don’t get it kicked in by an average person that won’t put up with your racist “white man wanna-be” psycho dribble. I’d love for you to open your mouth wide screaming, the next white girl might have her boyfriend there to rip your tonsils out. How would that be for a “racial eye opening experience”
Later black boy.
Stuffed. Immobile. Satisfied.
Just got home from having a late dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Goodness. I didn’t realize how much food I’d be up against. However, it was DELICIOUS! I’ll probably fall asleep at any moment now …
