Global Generalist: A Title I Can Live With

June 22, 2008 · Filed Under Random Blurbs, Stuff I'm Up To

You’ve probably noticed the updated banner on the website: It features a reduced size of my logo, along with the new text, “Ronald Lewis … Global Generalist … Denver, Colorado”. I was recently thinking of a term that could describe my broad proficiencies and interests. Thus, I settled on “Global Generalist.”

As a “generalist,” I don’t specialize in any particular field or skill sets, but instead, a variety of them. Call it boredom or whatever, but I thrive on diversifying my life with a plethora of skills, knowledge and opportunities. I think this new title best fits all that I am and what I can offer to the world. It encompasses all of my proficiencies in technology, media, design, business and much more.

Like everything in my life, this new title is part of an evolution and journey. It doesn’t force me to choose any particular title. It allows me to embrace everything I love and am capable of doing. I don’t have to burden myself with how to brand who I am and what I do. For those who want specifics, they will ask.

So, what’s on the horizon for this “generalist”? Everything. The rest of this year through 2009 will be an interesting moment in my life. It will define the future and my individual growth. I’m looking forward to all of the possibilities!
