I just read today that American is moving ahead with ordering 47 Boeing 737s over the next few years; They expect to receive 3 737s by 2009. American’s long-term plan is to replace their aging fleet of 300+ MD-80s, the workhorse of American’s domestic network.
I’m looking forward to taking flight on one of the new 737s. It’s my second favorite aircraft (the MD-80 is #1).
