"Daddy, I Love You So Much"

Posted in All by Ronald Lewis

I’m not sure why, but at times, I fantasize of having my own family one day. I know the world is crazy and that people are cruel, but I feel that part of my contribution to the world will come in the form of outstanding children and a powerful example of family and the meaning of community and love.

So, I had the most beautiful daughter in my arms while standing in line at a store, and she looked at me with the biggest and brightest eyes ever, and said:

“Daddy, I love you so much”

I replied, “And Daddy loves you too, honey! So does Mommy!”

Then, I gave her a big hug and she smiled and warmed my heart. Man, that was an amazing moment … in my mind.

I know I am not the only person to have these thoughts and often wonder how these things make people feel who are childless or have considered having a family one day. I know at the core of me, there is the hope that I might one day become a father.

I really wish we could have a more loving and peaceful world, gang. I truly believe the essence of life is love, but we often fall short of its power, meaning and purpose. If only we had the capability to go back in time and make things right, we could really have the best of life today.
