My Life — Now In Live Video!

Posted in All by Ronald Lewis

Update: I’ve been having a ton of fun streaming my life wirelessly via EvDO and Wifi connectivity in the past two days. I’ve gotten great feedback on the quality of the video, and was recently featured on the front page of UStream. Also, I have added a Live Camera section to the site with a chatroom. I am currently evaluating several exciting streaming startups (Mogulus, Operator11) — the tools provided by these companies will enable lifecasters to produce some compelling and engaging lifecasts. I’m looking forward to trying out all of these new and exciting lifecasting sites. Finally, I plan to introduce video conversations on Interviews, a podcast I produce which features interviews CEOs, celebrities, etc.

To prepare for an upcoming video project I’m working on, I’ve decided to immerse myself in the world of “lifecasting” — which is essentially streaming a live video of yourself online. Justin.TV has created quite a stir in this area (he’s doing it wirelessly — so, we can watch his life on the go), and to better educate myself about this phenomenon, I have volunteered myself to try out this exciting new way of engaging people around the world.

The video will stream from my web site most of time — however, there will be periods of downtime, etc. Currently, the camera is positioned in my room — so you’ll see me working, sleeping, watching TV, being lazy, etc.

I have not decided how live video will be integrated into the site, but for now, you can see what’s going on right now below (click the “play” button to start streaming):
