While I have sworn to myself that I’ll never try another long distant romance, I don’t think that one is fully out of consideration. Why? There’s just something appealing and exciting about it. It’s an excuse to travel, see a new place and try something different. There’s also the intense anticipation of seeing the person you love, spending time with them and doing things together.
Although I am not actively seeking a romantic relationship, I have considered the possibility of another LD romance. The key to any successful relationship are two people who share the same values and beliefs when it comes to the integrity, commitment and understanding of the bond they share. Most people contend that LD romances are stressful, but are they really?
I think with the right woman, an LD romance — hell, any romance — would be not only exciting, but rewarding and special as well. There’s no stress involved — just happiness and joy. The end game is that it’s all about how much you’ll sacrifice and give to the relationship. However, the key again are the values and beliefs of both parties. Will they be committed? Honest? Loyal? Trustworthy?
